Lupus is a systemic autoimmune disease that occurs when your body's immune system attacks your own tissues and organs. Inflammation caused by lupus can affect many different body systems — including your joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs.

• Systemic lupus erythematosis (SLE) is otherwise known as “LUPUS”
• Lupus is a disease of 1000 faces means it can affect 1000 different people in 1000 different patterns
• Lupus is an autoimmune disease where body’s immune system attacks own tissue and produce inflammation. This attack can occur at any sites of the body (skin, blood, kidney and brain)
• Most commonly affects young females though it can also affect the pediatric population
• Most common symptoms are fatigue and joint pain
