Psoriatic arthritis is a type of arthritis, occurs in some patients with psoriasis. Mostly people develop psoriasis first and are later diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, but the joint problems can sometimes begin before skin lesions appear.

The signs and symptoms of psoriatic arthritis are same as rheumatoid arthritis. Both diseases cause joints to become painful, swollen and warm to the touch. However, it mostly causes the followings:

• Foot pain
• Swollen fingers and toes
• Lower back pain

People with psoriatic arthritis develop arthritis multilane (a severe, painful and disabling form of the disease). Multilane destroys the small bones in your hands, especially the fingers, leading to permanent deformity and disability. Sometimes patients may develop eye problems such as pinkeye (conjunctivitis).
